Jay Ayliff, Ben Howcroft, Susanna Hewitt, Hazel Hare, Jackie Ametewee and myself (Sarah Armitage) will be travelling on 14th March to Chiang Mai, the second largest city in Thailand.
For the first week of our trip, we will be part of the annual Partners Relief & Development retreat, where all international staff and volunteers will be gathered to spend time together in worship and hearing the word of God. Our team will be responsible for leading the times of worship and for running the youth programme.
Then it will be on to the Thai/Burma burma border for a week of ministry within the refugee camps and migrant communities of those who have fled from the brutal regime in Burma (for more information see http://www.partnersworld.org.uk/). We will run music and worship workshops, do a bit of teaching and spend many happy hours playing games with the children or drinking coffee whilst chatting with the adults (my preference!).
Some of the children of Phop Phra Hostel, Thailand. The team will be spending a day doing worship and music workshops with them. |
This blog has been created so that we can regularly update our friends and families about our trip, but also to raise awareness of the situation for many in Burma. We pray that we can somehow make a small difference. Please do become a friend of our blog and also subscribe to recieve our posts by email.
Thanks so much, we look forward to spending quality cyber time with you all.
